1. Setup and link Google Analytics 4 property

Time to completion: 30-60 min

• Retag if not on Google tag
• Setup Google Analytics 4 property
• Enable data collection
• Link corresponding Google Analytics 4 property to Universal Analytics property
• Link Google Analytics 4 to Google Ads
• Enable Google Signals (if eligible)

2. Core feature configuration

Time to completion: 1-2hrs

• Enable Ads Personalization
• Create or recreate audiences in Google Analytics 4 and import to Google Ads (if eligible)
• Create conversions in Google Analytics 4
• Import conversions to Google Ads as “secondary” conversions

3. Use Google Analytics 4 as primary Analytics platform*

Time to completion: 2 weeks*

• Replace Universal Analytics audiences in campaigns (if eligible)
• Understand discrepancies of Google Analytics 4 and Universal Analytics conversions in Google Ads
• Swap GA4 conversions to primary and UA conversions to secondary to bid on GA4 conversions
